Explore Fez City’s Timeless Charm

Your Moroccan journey kicks off in Fez City, a place brimming with history and culture. As one of Morocco’s imperial cities, Fez is home to a maze of narrow streets and alleyways that make up its UNESCO-listed medina. Here, you’ll visit Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest operating university in the world, and the beautifully designed Medersa Bou Inania, a superb example of Islamic architecture. Wander through the bustling souks, where artisans craft traditional goods, or relax in a local café to absorb the lively atmosphere.

Journey Through the Middle Atlas Mountains to the Sahara

After your time in Fez City, the tour takes you through the picturesque Middle Atlas Mountains. This region is known for its cool climate, pine forests, and charming towns like Ifrane, often referred to as “The Switzerland of Morocco” due to its European-like architecture and landscapes. Along the way, you’ll stop at the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you might spot Barbary macaques. As you continue, the landscape transitions to the Ziz Valley, known for its stunning oasis and dramatic gorges, before reaching Merzouga, your base for exploring the Sahara Desert.

Experience the Magic of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga

In Merzouga, you’ll find yourself at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, where the vast desert stretches as far as the eye can see. Here, you’ll enjoy a camel trek across the dunes, watching the sun dip below the horizon and painting the sky with vibrant colors. Spend the night in a luxury desert camp, where you can enjoy a delicious traditional Berber dinner while listening to live music under the stars. This magical desert experience will leave you in awe of the Sahara’s beauty.

Explore Rissani, Todra Gorges, and Marrakech

On day four, you’ll leave Merzouga behind and travel to Rissani, where you’ll visit its lively market, which offers an authentic glimpse of Moroccan culture. The journey then continues to the Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs create a dramatic backdrop for hikes and photography. After exploring the gorges, you’ll make your way toward Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains along the way, before arriving in the bustling city in the evening.
